Baijnath town is located 50 km off Dharamshala, wherein the famous Shiva temple, known as the Baijnath Temple, gives the town its name. The architecture of the temple and the inscriptions on its walls reflect upon the early medieval North Indian styles, having been constructed as a shrine to Lord Shiva in 1204 AD by 2 merchants. The temple is the major attraction of the town and the bringer of tourists.
Snow Monk Camp is the first community based sustainable tourism project in district Kangra, Dhauladhar Himalaya, promoting and taking along many village homestays near the Dharamshala region.
