The Khauli River valley is a spectacular, impressive and untrodden valley of the Dhauladhar Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh. District of Kangra – Kangra district lies between 31˚ 21′ to 32˚ 59′ N latitude and 75˚ 47′ 55″ to 77˚ 45′ E longitude. It is situated on the southern escarpment of the Himalayas. The entire area of the district is traversed by the varying altitude of the Shivaliks, Dhauladhar and the Himalayas from north-west to south-east. The altitude varies from 500 metres above mean sea level (amsl) to around 5500 metres. It is encapsulated in the north by the districts of Chamba and Lahaul and Spiti, in the south by Hamirpur and Una

in the east by Mandi and in the west by Gurdaspur district of Punjab. It was the largest district of the composite Punjab in terms of area till it was transferred from Punjab to Himachal Pradesh on the 1st November, 1966 and had six tehsils namely Nurpur, Kangra, Palampur, Dehragopipur, Hamirpur and Una. Kullu was also a tehsil of Kangra district up to 1962 and Lahaul&Spiti which also formed a part of Kangra was carved out as a separate district in 1960.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive at Base Camp. Adventure Activities & Acclimatization Walk
AM:
- Arrival at Snow Monk Camps with warm welcome at the base camp and check into the camp site
- Breakfast at the camp
- We go for a acclimatization walk to Kotharna village (6kms) to come back by lunch time to the camp
PM:
- Post lunch, adventure activities such as the high rope course.
- Dinner & overnight at the base camp
- Meals – Lunch & Dinner
The view from the base camp is spectacular with snow capped peaks in the front and river Khauli flowing through ther valley. The back view is even spectacular with Pong and Maharana Ranjit Singh Reservoirs visible from end to end. We go for an acclimatization walk from breakfast to lunch today.
Day 2
Trek Salli Village - Chagrotu (2800m) 10 Kms/5hrs
- Post breakfast we trek along the Khauli River crossing the Salli village towards Daled camp site
- The trail crosses through dense forest crossing Chandraila temple leading to the meadows of Chagrotu
- Arrive at Chagrotuand organize the camp for overnight stay
- Evening to explore the surrounding area. Dinner & Overnight
- Meals – Breakfast, Packed Lunch & Dinner
Day 3
Chagrotu - Cross Baleni Pass (3750 Mts) 5 Kms/ 5 Hrs
- Trail climbs steeply up towards the Baleni Pass. Cross over the pass and we camp besides Kali Dal.
- Evening to explore the area around
- Night stay in tents.
- Meals – Breakfast, Packed Lunch & Dinner
Day 4
Trek to Lamdal (4200mtr) and 7 Lakes (5kms/ 4hrs)
- Trek to Lamdal
- Meals – Breakfast, Packed Lunch & Dinner
Day 5
Trek to Handi Forest (10kms/5hrs)
- After breakfast, we walk down to the Handi forest. Evening to explore the area around
- Night stay in tents.
- Meals – Breakfast, Packed Lunch & Dinner
Day 6
Trek to Salli Base Camp (8kms/ 3-4 Hrs)
- After breakfast, we walk down to Base Camp, Salli
- Meals – Breakfast
