Snow Monk Camp has started “Community Based Sustainable Tourism” initiative where we have collaborated with the local people promoting their residence as a homestay. In a mission to promote the economic condition of the local people through adventure tourism, we are skilling the local youth and doing capacity building workshops. New employment opportunities have been created and from Kareri village, the surrounding villages have also started roping in our initiative. All the people here have been linked to tourism by the Snow Monk Camp initiative and nearby village homestays are being listed under us as we move ahead. All homestays provide neat and clean comfortable accommodation as a base camp before you start trekking along with delicious home cooked food and a great experience of the local culture.
