WASTE TO TREASURE WITH PINE NEEDLES -

Each year in the lower ranges of the Himalayas, pine trees shed their needles, which are hazardous triggering forest fires. As a great innovative idea, these waste needles are being used to make a lot of handicrafts items. Pine needle handicraft weaving is a centuries old craft. It is inexpensive, uses natural materials, and can be utilized to make unique-looking baskets. It also helps in social economic benefits to the local communities elevating poverty.

In our workshops, we will demonstrate the entire process of collecting & processing the needles and then the children will also be engaged in finishing semi finished products made by the local villagers and then buying the same from them helping in their livelihood.
